Jeans

Jeans are arguably the most casual of all clothing, so they’re a good choice if you’re applying for a position in a casual environment.

However, jeans are not appropriate for most dog trainer interview situations because they aren’t considered professional attire by most employers.

If you’re unsure about the dress code of your interview and want to play it safe, opt for slacks instead of denim or khakis.

Long Sleeves

Long sleeves show that you’re professional and serious about the job, but they can also be practical. If you are cold-blooded or easily sunburned, long sleeves can be a godsend.

So what does this mean for you? Well, if your interview is in wintertime and you tend to run cold (or just like the look of long-sleeved business suits), go ahead and wear them!

If it’s summertime and there’s no chance of getting burned by UV rays, trade those out for short sleeves or even a sleeveless top.

If you want to dress up for an interview or just don’t want to show off any skin during it, wearing a suit with long sleeves is fine too – whether it has short or long pants doesn’t matter since no one will see them anyway!

Suit Or Business Casual Attire

When it comes to picking out your interview outfit, there are two things to keep in mind: the dress code and the weather. If it’s cold outside or raining cats and dogs (so to speak), you’ll want to pack something warm and waterproof. Snow boots are ideal for winter months, while rain boots will keep you dry during rainy weather.

If there’s no need for such extreme measures, simply choose from suits or business casual attire. Suits are always appropriate for interviews that fact alone means they should never be worn casually.

For an interview that requires more relaxed dress codes like business casual, a nice pair of jeans along with a button-down shirt will do the trick just fine!

It goes without saying that shorts and flip flops aren’t appropriate work attire no matter what job you’re interviewing for!

Shoes Or Boots

If you’re wearing dress shoes or boots, they should be in good condition and clean. It’s best if they have a polished shine, but if this is not possible (or time-consuming) it is acceptable to wear them with a light coat of polish on top.

Dress shoes must be comfortable enough to walk around in for the entire day and durable enough to handle any activity that may take place during training sessions (e.g., running).

If your interview will take place outdoors on warm/hot days, you should wear closed toe shoes with low heels; avoid flip flops at all costs!

Accessories

Accessories. In addition to your shoes and dress, you’ll want to make sure you have a few accessories in your bag that will help complete the ensemble. These are things that can easily be taken on and off, so they’re perfect for switching up your look throughout the day.

Jewelry: A necklace or earrings can make an outfit pop! Just don’t go too crazy; it’s easy to get carried away with this one.

My rule is that if I wouldn’t wear it out of the house, then it should probably be left at home during my interview as well.

Belt: If your top has belt loops, consider wearing a belt for added chicness! It’s also great for keeping those untucked shirt tails from flying around wildly when you bend over as if there were anything else going on in your mind other than making sure no one sees any undergarments…?

Undergarments

The first thing you should consider is your undergarments. Do you think you would be able to sit still for an hour, let alone two or three, with a pair of underwear that has dug into your skin and left red marks? No, I didn’t think so.

Secondly, what about socks? If they are too thin or too thick, it could be an issue for both you and the dog trainer.

You don’t want to get blisters on your feet from being in dress shoes for too long! And if there are any bare spots on your ankles (and trust me there will be), that could be very distracting for whomever is training a dog near them as well.

Last but not least: A bra that fits properly is key! There’s nothing worse than having one strap fall off or having straps cut into their shoulders during an interview because the bra doesn’t fit right it can ruin someone’s self-esteem!

Hair And Makeup

Hair should be clean and neat. A messy bun, ponytail or loose waves are great options for a dog trainer interview.

Subtle makeup is a must! It’s important to look natural and not overdone. Natural glow with blush on the cheeks is all you need here!

Do not wear too much perfume or cologne – the smell can be distracting for the interviewer if it’s too strong.

The same goes for jewelry; keep it minimal so you don’t distract from what you’re saying during the interview (and make sure there are no dangling earrings that could fall off into your food!).

Jewelry

In addition to your clothing, jewelry is another area where you should be aware of what’s appropriate and what’s not. In general, try not to wear any dangling accessories; it may distract the interviewer.

Also avoid visible tattoos and rings (not just wedding bands). You don’t want to appear too flashy or hard-core in their office, so leave the bracelets at home as well. If you have earrings or a necklace on, keep them small and understated.

Perfume Or Cologne

Don’t overdo it. It’s easy to think that you’ll smell better if you wear more perfume or cologne, but that can be a mistake. If you go overboard, you will end up smelling like an overpowering cloud of chemicals instead of your normal pleasant self—or worse, like nothing at all!

Make sure you like the smell. You should only wear something if you really love its scent and would be happy with it on yourself 24/7. It’s not worth risking putting off potential employers just because they don’t agree with your personal choice in fragrance!

Don’t wear too much or too little. As mentioned above, there are two main problems associated with wearing too little perfume: either people will get whiffs of your natural scent from time to time (not ideal), or they won’t notice any scents at all (also not ideal).

On the other hand, beware of overdoing it by slathering on too much fragrance at once—this can leave some people feeling overwhelmed by chemical smells when there’s no need for such intensity in this case!

Outerwear

The last thing you want is for your coat to get in the way of the interview. If it’s too bulky and heavy, it could drag on the floor or be difficult to move around in.

If it’s too thin, flimsy or short, you risk getting cold during a long walk with your potential trainer partner.

Your best bet? Choose a coat that’s weather appropriate for where you live but also has some weight to it like one made out of wool or leather and makes sure that it doesn’t drag on the ground or flap in the wind as you walk through town together.

Conclusion

So, what should you wear to a dog trainer interview? The answer is easy: a suit! A suit will give you that professional look and feel that you need to impress your potential employer.

It also shows them that you take the role seriously and want it as much as they do.
